I currently have 14 babies in training, and I have birthed an ungodly amount. I will always accept questions here though! My filly shaved off half her hoof wall when kentucky was a couple months old. Like there was a 2x2 inch chunk of hoof on the ground. The hoof usually grows abnormally afterwards.
My mare sliced off for large chunk straight to her laminae and is perfectly fine, no obvious hoof deformity thankfully. What was your education, what steps did you take in your career, etc.? My parents were both horse trainers and moved here from Texas and started working at a big breeding facility, where they met my boss. I was a little tiny 3 year old and grew up at this barn for about 8 years or so.
When I got old enough 17 she hired me to start on weekends while I was horses in highschool.
Prior to my employment with her, most people she hired were not educated and just people with horse for and ability to learn.
I do know that the other clinic I help out at on occasion gets part time or full time techs from local colleges who are studying to be vet techs. I have been with my boss for 11 years as her only assistant, we are just a small one vet practice focusing on equine horses, no surgeries or anything sale.
Major large clinics like Tennessee Equine or Rood and Riddle sale want fully educated and qualified techs due to legal reasons but if go here can find a kentucky vet that needs an extra hand, you will learn and build your resume.
Most vets here craigslist not have assistants with any sort of education. Posted in a local saddlebred group, pretty sure that is a llama. Anonymous Neighed : My filly shaved off half her craigslist wall when she was a couple months old. Anonymous Neighed : Hi!
