Mumsnet has not checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. Many Mumsnetters experiencing domestic abuse have found this thread helpful: Listen up, everybody. NC for this, but I'm a fairly regular poster and even more regular lurker. I've already posted in the Staffroom, but I'm duplicating the thread here for greater traffic. You can tell I'm a teacher, can't you?
I'm early 50s, divorced for almost ten years, and didn't get anywhere with sites such as Guardian Soulmates yes, it was that long ago when I tried! I realised recently that I do get on well with other teachers when I meet them socially, and for a while I had a FWB who I met in the days when we had face-to-face examiners' meetings.
Other teachers just seem to be on the same wavelength as me, don't mind the desire to be organised slight bossiness that comes with the job etc. There's edudate on Twitter.
Never tried it but it's the only one I know of that is actually for teachers. It's good that you have realised what it is that draws you to other people. I'd just counsel not reducing your options dating far by only looking for people in one profession. There are many professions that require organisation, good communication, etc. But if there are teacher-focussed dating sites then why not try them.
The ABCs of Online Dating for Educators
My husband and I have been separated for the past 8 months and with barely any relationship even before that. This year, my daughter's teacher he's a fresh uni graduate-studied teaching for 3 years- I'm nearly 12 years older than him but there's been a definite chemistry. I have informed him of my situation given some trouble my daughter 6 got into in school and he often asks me how I'm doing and on days that I'm last for pick up, he'll chat for an extra bit to the point teacher I now know he's had a heart condition as a child and this Friday; he called out once I'd already left from the classroom to say have a good weekend.
I don't app either the attention or dating thereof but I'm just curious to see if others think there's something there? And if not, then please be kind; it's my first time posting here. Please create an account or log in to access all these features.
