I only knew him for a few years, but in that short time he made such an impact on me, personally. I will always remember him as a kind, craigslist person who would gladly give you the shirt off his own back. I was so saddened to learn of Craig's passing, and just found out today that there was a memorial service. I'm so sorry to have missed it. Your family is in my prayers. I always enjoyed talking with him at the Poole reunions; I always thought he was bigger than life and marveled at the read article spirit he was, taking off on his bike and enjoying the freedom of the 'open road. Craig and I were classmates from craigslist school. We were both from East Tennessee which in those days made us a minorityand we both loved music. Many times we would car pool together from Johnson City or Knoxville to Memphis. We had lots of time to talk about life and our dreams.
Craig was an "old soul" even in his twenties. He had a rebellious nature and was really a very charismatic person. He shared his poetry with those he felt kindness towards. I considered it an honor that he shared his work with me. He deeply loved his wife Kathy. Following pharmacy school I went to medical school, was divorced, remarried, had a child, and lost touch with many important friends elizabethton Craig. I think of him often. I hope his children know that Craig craigslist much more than a pharmacist which he considered really a means to an end.
He was an elizabethton, creative man that was something of a "guru" to many of us that had so much to learn and experience. He died much too young, and I am going to miss being able to sit down in our old age and relive the day when we were the "young lions".
